PatrickPittsburgh Post-Gazette – A proposal to increase property taxes by $25 on each $100,000 of assessed value to fund children’s programs in Allegheny County will appear on the Nov. 6 general election ballot.

If voters approve the measure, the approximately $18 million annual fund would go toward early learning programs, nutritious meals and after school programs for kids.

Advocates for the fund gathered more than 60,000 signatures to put the measure up for a vote.
